I went to Costco today,
First time in a while.
Months, actually.
We'd canceled our membership,
But my mom had a change of heart
And decided to renew it.
I'm proud of her, I missed Costco.
Oh, so much.
It was fun, you know,
That wholesome, Costco fun.
Then I had my mom run into Dick's with me,
My goggles broke and I needed new ones.
I got some, they're blue.
I'm not ready for '09.
I hadn't really thought about it
Before a couple days ago.
I'm not ready.
This year has gone by so fast,
I don't know what it is.
Nothing spectactular happened.
It felt like a continuation of last year.
So I'm ringing in the new year at home.
I don't know if anyone's coming over,
Probably not.
I don't care.
No plans or anything.
That might be one of the reasons why
I wasn't even aware
That the year's almost done.
It snowed today.
2008 finished up with a nice snowstorm.
It was nasty out,
Blustery and cold.
I welcomed the snow though,
I love it.
This year particularly,
I've just really liked snow.
Coming home from Costco
There were all these plows and stuff.
It was great.
So even though I just can't see
How quickly the year dissappeared,
And I miss the Christmas carols on the radio
And I still keep wearing holiday-themed socks,
I guess I'm glad for 2009.
It's been a nice, short year.
Well, um, happy new year!
